Buying A Motorbike in Pattaya

Any idea where in Pattaya I can buy a used Motorbike?

I am going to stay for 6 months in Pattaya and I am thinking that buying a used motorbike would be most economic for me.

If I pay 3000 Baht a month for a motorbike 3x6=18000 I thought I might just as well buy one and sell it when I leave Pattaya.

Any thoughts? Recommendations?

Thank you

Paul

Paul,

There are community boards in "Carrefour" on Pattaya Klang and "Friendship Supermarket" on Pattaya Tai.

Check the ads there. Sometimes I see Motorbikes for sale. You will find ads there from job offers to real estate, and motorbikes.

If you are looking for for a scooter/motorbike type you may also try the Honda Mityon places in Pattaya.

The best Mityon Honda place that sells 2nd hand, has a great selection, and fair prices, is located on Sukhumvit Rd. and Chaiyapruek Rd.

Chaiyapruek is the one on Jomtien Beach Road by the police station up there. Go up to Sukhumvit Road and it's on your right hand side.

You can buy very nice used scooters there. Full and semi automatic. I bought one there that which was 1 year old, 10,000 KM, Nuovo, 1 year insurance, looked brand spanking new, and I paid 25,000 Baht including the insurance.

Take Care

Honda for reliability
by: john

i have bought two Honda wave 4 stroke bikes rock solid bikes and in the monsoon season no problems with cutting out like 2 stroke in fact Honda have never let me down in the UK our udon thani Thailand
my advice would be to stay well away from those cheap Chinese bikes there akin to riding a chocolate fire-guard
another thing to remember is there are a lot of accident damaged bikes around a dead give away are the older plated bikes you see with the seemingly cheap price stickers on them beware there new and shine panels can hide a multitude of problem
buyer beware if you dont know a lot about bikes take a friend who does
regards john
