Steve Kimbell. Visa question. 3 month return ticket
by Steve Kimbell
(UK)
Hello,
will you please tell me something regarding the visa situation. I will be arriving in Thailand and intend to stay there with you as I have done in the past .
I have been reading the latest visa information. I have pasted below some of it for you to read. Does this mean that I simply have to leave every 30 days. Or does it mean I can not enter if my flight tickets are for more than 30 days.
I have a 3 month return to the UK you see. I will really appreciate your help with this as I don't want to get into any trouble with Immigration. Thank you, Steve Kimbell . Reservation confirmation pending.
Do You Need A Visa For Thailand And What Are The Thailand Visa Requirements?
Whether you need a visa depends on how long you are planning to stay in the Kingdom of Thailand and what nationality you are.
The majority of foreigners entering the Kingdom without a visa will receive a stamp in their passport which is a permission to stay in the Kingdom of Thailand for 30 days.
30 day visas now only 15 days. Read more..... Aliens entering the Kingdom of Thailand with no visa must present a confirmed ticket or travel documents to exit the Kingdom and must not exceed 30 days upon the entrance of the Kingdom.
Best regards

Hi Steve,
If you are holding a UK passport you will receive 30 day visa exemption at the airport.
If you do not have a visa you will either have to leave Thailand after the 30 days and re-enter or get an extension.
If you fly back into Thailand you will receive another 30 days. Via overland Border checkpoints you will only receive 15 days.
Do yourself a favor and go to a Thai embassy or consulate in the UK and apply for a visa. Most tourist visas are valid for 60 days and you can extent it for 30 days at the local immigration office (cost 1900 Baht).
You could also get a double entry in the UK that way you have 2x 60 days and if you wanted you could get 2 extensions and that means you have 6 months.
You can not get a visa for Thailand in Thailand. Only visa exemptions and extensions.
So, go to the closest Thai embassy in your home country and apply for a visa. Easy to do and will safe you money in the long run.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other question.
