Thailand Visa

I plan to visit Thailand on vacation for five days on a tour with Smartours and would like to know if I would need a visa and where can I apply for one from Trinidad.

Where you apply for the visa is not as important as what Passport you carry or what nationality you are.

12/15/2008 Thai Immigration announced visa regulation change. This new regulation is regarding overland entries.

Foreigners entering Thailand without a visa via overland border checkpoints from Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia and Myanmar will only be granted 15 days on arrival.

The exception to the new visa regulation are Malaysian passport holders who will continue to receive 30 days without obtaining a visa prior to entering the Kingdom of Thailand.

Visa holders to Thailand visiting Thailand via overland border checkpoints will not be affected and will continue receiving 60 or 90 days depending on the visa.

You can also visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdon of Thailand here.

If your country is on this list you will be granted a visa exemption when you arrive.

Here is three things that come to my mind.

First, I would ask the tour operator if they know, because I sure don't. They should know what to do and where to apply for your visa.

Second, try to email or call the Thai embassy close to you or in Bangkok. Thai embassies outside Thailand.

Sorry for not mentioning,but I carry a passport from The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago where I reside. From the checks on the internet we are not exempted and would require a visa.

I am trying to find out how do I obtain a visa from Trinidad before travelling so that I do not get problems when I arrive.

There are no consulate or embassy for Thailand here in Trinidad. Can you advise how do I get a visa for Thailand from Trinidad.
